YOUNG beauty pageant contestant Luhle Shabane has been tirelessly chasing her dream to wear the title for this year’s Miss Heritage Eastern Cape pageant.
The crowning ceremony will take place in East London on September 20. Shabane, a student in the University of Fort Hare, will be representing her hometown of Mbizana as one of the contestants that vied for this year’s title.

She said her modelling journey started in 2022 to address social issues and assist her community while using various platforms.
Her first pageant was Miss Shawbury in 2022 and the following year she won 1st Princess in the Miss Shawbury beauty pageant.
In the same year, she also won the 1st Princess title in the Miss Embo pageant. In April, she participated in the Miss and Mr Residence at the University of Fort Hare.
“I saw the Miss Heritage Eastern Cape pageant on social media in April and entered after following all necessary requirements,” she said, adding that she has been conducting community work as part of competition responsibilities. Shabane said she will soon be visiting a pre-school as part of the competition.
She said she is also using her platforms to raise awareness about mental health.
